Pool Closure FAQ

Lap swimming is normally available whenever the pool is open. Even if some lanes are being used for lessons or camps, there will normally be three lanes open for lap swimmers.

During summer swim team training, which runs weekdays in the late afternoons (4-7pm) from mid-April to mid-July, no lanes will be available.

We offer a variety of lessons to meet your developing swimmers’ needs. We start as early as 3 years old to adults. Group Lessons are offered from April-August. Private and semi-private lessons are offered year round.

Non-members are also welcome to sign up for lessons in our beautiful outdoor pool. Take advantage of the temperate California weather, and sign up for lessons today! The busiest time of the year for swim lesson enrollments is late spring and early summer, so sign up today to get the best choice of lesson times.

Greenmeadow has a great aquatics program with high quality instruction, particularly for new swimmers.  My five year old boy has really enjoyed working with his coach who has done a great job making him feel comfortable and helping him progress.

The Greenmeadow Marlins is our community swim team which runs from April through to mid July. Swim team provides a fun and social way for your child to improve and develop lifelong swimming skills and meet new friends in a supportive team environment. Attending swim meets is great way for kids to strive for personal bests while enjoying a vibrant team atmosphere with friendly competition.

Swimmers are divided into groups by age and swimming ability: practice duration ranges from 45 minutes for the kids aged from five to eight years, up to 75 minutes for teens.

Teenagers on the team act as mentors to the younger kids to help them be their best, and cheer them on.

Parents are also involved with meet jobs such as operating a stop watch, and this is a great way to meet and get to know other swim team families.

Swim team participants must be members of the GMCA.

The Greenmeadow Marlins are part of the JSSL Swim League, which is a summer-only league comprising six small, neighborhood community clubs.

Early April: Registration opens, stroke and turn clinic to refresh skills

Mid April: Regular practices begin (First week is FREE Try It week)
Practices are five afternoons each week. Come as often as you can.

Late May: Swim meets begin (Meets are most saturday mornings through mid-July)

Mid July: Championships and end of season celebration

Our three sons have eagerly anticipated every summer swim season with their  Greenmeadow Marlins teammates. The competitive spirit is balanced with a sense of community, support, and fun. It’s apparent every day they love being part of their sports family.

Head Coach Rick Gordon will guide your swimmer towards becoming competent in all four strokes, and kids have the opportunity to compete in six swim meets over summer.  Swimmers train in groups appropriate to their age and swimming ability.

Coach Rick has 25 plus years of experience as a competitive swimmer (age group and masters), swim instructor and swim coach.  As a sprinter he achieved high honors not only as an age group swimmer, but also throughout his High School and College swimming career.  Rick is also a graduate of Santa Clara University, a Lockheed Martin retiree, father of three and an active participant in sprint triathlons and Spartan events.

We were new to the swim team two years ago when we joined and the experience was even better than we had hoped for! The Marlins have a real sense of community and togetherness that makes it like a second family thanks to things like the Friday potlucks, the 4th of July celebration and the pep rally for Champs. We love the Marlin swim team!

Limor is a phenomenal teacher, yogi, and person.  I love her yoga flow classes — they are nurturing, challenging, and supportive all at the same time — as well as really fun!  I can absolutely say that any week that I get on the mat in her classes is a great week.
